Alzheimer’s Society

We’re so pleased to be the Headline Charity Partner again for Hackney Half Marathon 2024! Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity, working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

MIND CHWF

We are Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest – your local Mind. For the last 40 years we have provided advice and support to anyone experiencing poor mental health in our community. Since then, not much has changed. Every year we help around 5,000 people with things like accessing their benefits, finding and keeping a job, and improving their mental health.

We believe that nobody should have to face a mental health problem alone, and we’re working to achieve this through our three values: we are fair, we are brave, and we are connected.

REACH OUT

ReachOut is a national mentoring and education charity, rooted in local communities. Working in under-resourced areas, we support young people to grow in character and confidence, sparking change in themselves and society.

At ReachOut, we run after school mentoring projects across London, Greater Manchester and Liverpool for young people aged 9-19.

Each young person in a ReachOut project is paired with their own volunteer mentor and, each week, through mentoring and fun group activities, they grow in character and confidence, sparking change in themselves and society.

ST JOSEPH’S HOSPICE

Our mission is to provide compassionate, specialist palliative care to people in the diverse community of East London who are living with life-limiting illness. We treat each person as unique, encouraging and enabling them to reach their full potential until the end of their life.

Our care is provided free of charge to anyone in the local community who needs it. We listen to the patient and their family so that we can work together to manage pain and distress whether physical, mental, social or spiritual. We encourage openness and honesty in communication to create an atmosphere of comfort and safety whether in the Hospice, in the patient’s home or in the community.

the felix project

Good food for good causes.

Right now, millions of people in the UK regularly experience hunger. Yet tonnes of surplus fresh food is thrown away every day. Inspired by Felix, we set out to change this. No one should have to miss a meal.

The Felix Project collects fresh, nutritious food that cannot be sold. We deliver this surplus food to charities and schools so they can provide healthy meals and help the most vulnerable in our society.

hackney night shelter

Hackney Night Shelter’s vision is for routes out of homelessness for people in need. They have worked with the local community to provide shelter and support to homeless people for over 25 years. They provide year-round emergency shelter for 26 homeless people per night with structured individual plans to assist individuals to move into longer term accommodation.

GOSH

Every day, around 750 seriously ill children and young people are seen at Great Ormond Street Hospital for life-changing treatment and care. GOSH Charity supports the hospital by funding areas such as parent accommodation and groundbreaking research.

leukaemia UK

We are Leukaemia UK. We believe in the power of research to change lives. We’re the champions of the cause – accelerating progress, through leukaemia research, so that it creates the greatest possible impact, and transforms lives.

By bringing together the experience and expertise of people who are living and working with leukaemia, we will do everything we can to make sure that the next person diagnosed has the best possible experience of diagnosis, treatment and care.

St mungo’s

With your help, St Mungo’s can make tonight someone’s last night on the streets.

St Mungo’s frontline workers will be out on the streets every night, helping to bring people in from the cold. This is just the beginning, our workers assess client’s individual needs, to help them get off the streets, and stay off the streets.

Go the extra mile in 2024 and together we can end homelessness for good.

SINGLE HOMELESS PROJECT

We were founded in 1975 when a group of six homeless men in London teamed up to create the change they wanted to see -  an end to rough sleeping and a city where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life.

Today, we are the largest homeless charity dedicated to helping Londoners in crisis. Every year, we help over 10,000 people to leave homelessness behind, to be seen, to be heard, and find a place to call home.

THE ZAHRA TRUST

The Zahra Trust’s mission is to aid those suffering from war, poverty and famine, by providing basic philanthropic needs, enabling them to survive and making them self-sustainable so that they will no longer require aid.

Since it was established in 2008, The Zahra Trust has provided millions of people across hundreds of communities throughout the world with relief and development aid.
