Expect pure vibrancy as the borough comes alive for a weekend of celebration and running from 18 - 19 May 2024.
Encompassing the Hackney 5k and Schools’ Challenge on Saturday, and the Wizz Air Hackney Half Marathon on Sunday – there is something for everyone. Across the weekend, the Event Village offers festival vibes with live music, street food and activities for all.

A Half Marathon with a difference. Experience the incredible Wizz Air Hackney Half Marathon on 19 May 2024. Run through London’s most creative and inspiring borough with vibrant street art and entertainment on course. Celebrate your 13.1 mile achievement with thousands in Hackney Marshes, complete with music, food, drink and a range of sports and wellbeing activities.

A hugely popular, FREE 5K that takes place the day before the Wizz Air Hackney Half Marathon in Hackney Marshes. Soak up the festival vibes on Hackney Marshes as you sprint, walk or jog the 5K course. This race is free to enter and is perfect for anyone aged 13 and above.

The Hackney Schools’ Challenge is an exciting youth running initiative open to primary school children (aged 4-11 years old) of all abilities. The Hackney Schools’ Challenge encourages students to run 12 miles in the lead up to the event, by breaking it down into half a mile or mile distances at home or at school. Students then participate in the Hackney Moves weekend by running the final celebratory mile course which finishes on the Hackney Half finish line, completing their own Half Marathon.
Entries for the 2024 Challenge will open in January 2024. All information regarding the event, as well as entries, are managed through participating Primary Schools within the London borough of Hackney.

Join us for an amazing weekend of FREE, diverse and inclusive fitness, wellbeing, culture and entertainment activities for all the family.​​
​​The main stage will host fitness sessions and entertainment from East Londons finest group exercise gurus, bands, DJ’s and entertainment acts.
Hackneys House of Fitness tent will be home to a wide variety of fitness activities offering something for everyone.​​
​​In the House of Wellness you will be able to experience a wide variety of yoga, pilates, sound baths, wellness talks and Q&A sessions and loads more.​​
​​There is so much going on in the festival village you will want to stay all day. From family sports and cultural activations from local clubs and community groups to a wide variety of street food and beverages on offer for some post activity refuelling. Keep the little ones entertained at the amazing Hackney Playbus, have a family race on the sprint track or simply sit back and soak up the incredible atmosphere at Hackney Moves.​​
